Dorsey Magnuson
Dorsey grew up in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and attended Apollo High School. She began working with the pottery wheel during her high school years and quickly bonded with the craft, continuing to develop and hone her pottery-making skills through ongoing courses, workshops, and Cohorts through the Paramount Arts Center, downtown. Dorsey recently invested in her own pottery wheel at home to create new pieces and practice new techniques. She creates new designs and styles as well as works with and learns from others to continue to grow and develop.
Dorsey works professionally as a drafter in the area of unique structures and memorial designs and is attending school in the area of planning and community development. She dreams of transforming urban and suburban landscapes into walkable, ecological, and inclusive living communities.
A Continuing Process
Using various types of clay and applique techniques, Dorsey continually develops new, simultaneously utilitarian, and beautiful decor designs.
Dorsey’s pottery work is a refined process with multiple steps to create a finished piece that is uniquely styled, glazed, and gas kiln-fired. Each piece is unique.
